Choosing a round rug

How is a round rug measured?

Round rug sizes describe the diameter: the distance across the centre from one edge to the other. Mark that circle on your floor and check furniture legs, door movement and walkways. A 200 cm round rug is not the same shape or coverage as a 200 × 290 cm rectangular rug.

Can I use a round rug under a dining table?

Compare the table diameter with the rug diameter and allow room for chairs to remain on the rug when pulled out. Around 60–75 cm extra on each side is a starting point; confirm with your actual chairs and available floor space.
