- Vacuum regularly with low suction and a suction-only head. Avoid rotating brushes, beater bars and vacuuming over fringes.
- Blot spills immediately with a clean, dry, light-coloured absorbent cloth. Do not rub or scrub.
- Some wool rugs release loose fibres when new. Vacuum gently and do not pull yarns or brush vigorously.
- If spot cleaning is permitted, test a wool-suitable cleaner on a concealed area first and use minimal moisture. Avoid soaking, bleach and harsh household chemicals.
- Do not machine wash, tumble dry or use steam unless the rug’s own instructions explicitly permit the method.
- For deep cleaning or persistent stains, use a professional rug cleaner and provide the full fibre and backing details.
